The Redondo Beach City Council nixed a proposal to allow room additions over garages.
The Council, after hearing resident's objections, agreed that if the zoning amendment was allowed to pass the chances of bootleg units would increase through out the city. Opponents believe that by not allowing the zone change there is a good chance that many older neighborhoods will continue to maintain their charm and character, especially along the Avenues.
