Manhattan Beach is usually on the short list of cities with short term beach rentals. However there are some private homes available for one to three nights. The City of Manhattan Beach wants to pass an ordinance that outlaws rentals for less then a one week term. The city believes that short term rentals are just setting the stage for wild parties that often involve the police. Neighbors have complained about parties with excessive drinking and rowdy behavior. Tonight at 6:30 in the Council Chambers at City Hall the Council will consider passing an ordinance that prohibs rentals of less then a 7 day duration.

The Council met and decided to give the matter further study many homeowners spoke against the
proposed ordinance.
