One of the things that makes our community so desirable is the school system. Manhattan Beach schools are consistently in the top 10% in California and the US. Much of the credit goes to the teachers. We have some very special individuals who have chosen to work in our town. If you have not been to an event by the drama and music departments of Mira Costa you have missed productions that are much closer to professional then amateur. The AV department is phenomenal.
We are fortunate to have a community that supports education. This year the Manhattan Beach Education Foundation has managed to raise an additional $2.5 million in donations to help fund Manhattan Beach school programs. The extra funding from the community goes toward librarians, teachers aides, and music and technology programs that would be cut if parents and community members didn't help out.
A good education is the foundation for the future. So Thank You to everyone who believes in education and our young people.
