It's Earth Day in the Beach Cities


Today marks the 37th anniversary of Earth Day.. If you are looking for places to go and join in the celebration try:


Manhattan Beach:


Polliwog Park on Manhattan Beach Blvd. is the place from 11:00-4:00..

There willbe music, shopping and alternative fuel vehicles... You can also bring in your old electronic stuff.. cameras, PC's, printers, laptops, TV's.. anything with a cord or circuit board for disposal..


Redondo Beach:


Whole Foods in Redondo at 405 N. PCH will have exhibts and coupons.. bring in an old cell phone or printer cartridge for a free Green Whole Foods Market bag. Visit from 12:00-4:00


Sea Lab at 1021 N. Harbor Dr has lots going on including a sand scultpure contest.. Visit from 10:00-3:00 p.m.

When was the 1st Earth Day...I'm bad as I have no idea.

Monika.. it was 1970 we were all young and very idealistic.. lots of changes since then although perhaps not as great as we hoped but certainly more then many envisioned.
