Manhattan Beach: Household Hazardous Waste.. Dump it Saturday

If you're like me you have a lot of Hazardous Waste items in the garage. I know this stuff can't go in the regular trash but never seem to find a place that is convenient to dump it... so it sits... and sits... and sits.

All that changes on Saturday March 8, 2008. The parking lot at Northrup-Grumman at Marine and Aviation is collecting housing hazardous wate items from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Acceptable items are:

motor oil

oil filters

brake fluid

used antifreeze

paint

turpentine

cleaners with acid or lye

pesticides & herbicided

batteries

This should a regular feature of trash removal in all towns. Too many just throw it hazardous materials in with the regular trash.

Hi Joe,
I agree ...it would be great if they had a local pick up every 3-4 months..
