South Bay Beach Cities... Bits & Pieces

I thought it might be nice to have a quick look at some of the things that have been happening in the last week and a few of the items on the calendar for the week end.

Manhattan Beach: Street work.... Aviation/Marine/Rosecrans.. Hallelujah!! I think they are finally done. I was beginning to think this project would never end.. now if they can just get Rosecrans finished we all may be able to go 1 mile in either direction in less then 20 minutes.
Don't forget... you can dump your junk on Saturday March 24,20007 at Aviation and Marine

Hermosa Beach: On March 26,2007 there will be a new book on the 100year history of Hermosa Beach. I love reading about the history of our beach towns. Should be available in any of our local bookstores

Redondo Beach: Looks as if North Redondo is finally going to get its long awaited Bike Path. It's supposed to be a direct path... sort of... from Torrance Blvd to The Green line.. we'll see how things finally wind up.
There will be a ceremony honoring George Freeth on Saturday near Kincaids on the Pier...George is Redondo's surfing legend.. he came to Redondo from Hawaii in 1907 and stunned the locals with his long board and showed surfing as a sport. He will also be honored for his contributions as a Lifeguard.

El Segundo: For all you car guys.. The Automobile Driving Museum will officailly open Saturday & Sunday in El Segundo. The museum will be open from 10:00-4:00 and is located at 610 Lairport St. Best of all admission is free.
