Zillow Makes News

Last night David G from Zillowposted to Active Rain the news that Zillow will now allow REALTORS®, Home owners or maybe anybody to post property listings for free.
It was also an item in The L A Times and most major newspapers.

This morning in my e-mail I received this post from Zillow:

Post Your Listings on Zillow.com for Free
Get significant exposure for your homes and for yourself -- for free. You can now post your listings on Zillow.com, one of the top five most-visited real estate web sites (according to Hitwise, Oct. 2006). With 3 to 4 million visitors each month -- over half who are in the market for a home -- you have the opportunity to get tremendous exposure for your listings and services at no cost to you. Plus, your photo and contact information will appear at the top of each home you post for sale. Pretty exciting stuff!

So what's the excitement all about? Well for one thing Zillow, while they still need to work on accuracy in their Zestimates, is a presence in the real estate market. They are now in the top 10 on search engines when looking for real estate with REALTOR.Com at number 1. What it means is that Zillow is great resource where your property can be marketed along with Craigslist, Neighborhood Open House. V-flyer and other online sites.

Marketing a home in today's real estate market involves a lot more then taking out an ad in the Daily Breeze, Beach Reporter or LA Times or just putting up a sign. To properly market a listing an agent has to have an internet presence. Statistics show that over 70% of all buyers start their search on the internet. Internet marketing is a must in today's market and Zillow has given us another tool to help market your home.

If you would like more information on internet marketing give me a call (310) 721-7438 or e-mail me with your request.
